What’s New?

All things! Isn’t it crazy to think that everything is new…always?! What was new at the beginning of the year has changed, last week has changed, an hour ago is different and even one minute ago, I was just sitting down to write this blog. 

We joke on Tuesdays about how many people we will serve depending on the meal being provided. Letting our patrons know what’s on the menu before Tuesday is challenging. Most of them don’t have access to internet. They carry flip phones that I probably wouldn’t remember how to use. Hahaha! The thing is, they know how to disseminate information! If the menu is desirable, they are on the phone telling everyone they know what’s for lunch. 

Before Christmas, Ann asked that someone write a blog. I was happy to do it, as I love talking about Cafe Central, yet wondered what her purpose was in wanting one. Her answer, “I want to tell as many people about Cafe Central in as many ways as possible!” She wants to flip open her phone! 

Please help us as we change the way we get the word out! Share, copy, tweet, post, repost, embed, mention, wave, message, email and flip open your phones! It’s a new year, a new decade and a new opportunity to partner with us in prayer, service and giving.

Stephannie and her husband Doug have been volunteering at Cafe Central for 6 years. They moved from Colorado to Milledgeville Georgia in 2015. That year during Sunday service, the announcement that Cafe Central needed extra help for their Thanksgiving service, brought them for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. They have now served weekly since January 2016. Doug is the volunteer coordinator and member of the Cafe Central Board. Stephannie just likes to talk to, and about, the “family” Cafe Central has become.
